The Young Bond series, written by Steve Cole, is a thrilling set of books that takes readers on an exciting journey through the life of James Bond as a teenager. In this series, James Bond is still in school and has not yet become the iconic spy that we know today. The series consists of four books written by Steve Cole: Shoot to Kill, Heads You Die, Strike Lightning, and Red Nemesis. Each book is filled with action, suspense, and danger, making it a must-read for anyone who loves adventure. These books are perfect for those confident readers aged 9-14

Shoot to Kill is set in 1934 and follows James Bond as he goes on a school trip to Hollywood. While there, he is thrust into a world of danger and espionage when a Hollywood starlet is kidnapped, and he is the only one who can save her. Along the way, James must use all of his wits and skills to outsmart the kidnappers and save the day. Shoot to Kill is a thrilling introduction to the Young Bond series and sets the tone for the rest of the books.

The second book, Heads You Die, takes place a year later, in 1935. James Bond has returned to school and is trying to put the events of his previous adventure behind him. However, he is quickly pulled back into the world of espionage when he is recruited by MI6 to go undercover and investigate a sinister group of scientists who are experimenting with mind control. Heads You Die is a fast-paced adventure that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.

The third book, Strike Lightning, is set in 1936 and finds James Bond in America. He is there to attend a science fair, but his trip takes a dangerous turn when he becomes embroiled in a plot to steal a revolutionary new weapon. James must use his wits and skills to stop the thieves and prevent the weapon from falling into the wrong hands. Strike Lightning is a thrilling adventure that takes readers on a high-speed chase through America.

The fourth and final book in this collection, Red Nemesis, takes place in 1937 and finds James Bond back in England. He is tasked with investigating a series of gruesome murders that have taken place in London's Chinatown. As he delves deeper into the case, James discovers that the murders are part of a larger plot to destabilize the British government. He must race against time to stop the conspirators and save the day. Red Nemesis is a gripping conclusion to the Young Bond series and will leave readers satisfied.

Overall, the Young Bond series is a must-read for anyone who loves adventure, espionage, and suspense. Steve Cole has done an excellent job of capturing the spirit of James Bond as a teenager and has created a world that is both familiar and new. The series is full of action, danger, and intrigue, and each book is a page-turner that will keep readers hooked until the very end. Description from the publisher:

Shoot to Kill

James Bond hits Hollywood Lights. Camera. Murder. Young Bond is back in his most action-packed, explosive adventure yet.

Heads You Die

The explosive action continues in Steve Cole's second Young Bond adventure. James's Cuban holiday has become a nightmare mission to save an old friend from a villain who has perfected 1,000 ways to kill. With corrupt cops and hired assassins hot on his heels, James must travel through Havana and brave Caribbean waters to stop a countdown to mass murder. Fates will be decided with the flip of a coin. Heads or tails. Live or die.

Strike Lightning

James Bond is back again in Steve Cole's third thrilling Young Bond adventure. When James stumbles upon a horrific sight, he knows things are not what they seem. His school is determined to make him believe what happened was an accident, but James believes what he saw was murder. The significance of the events at school only comes to light in the course of an adventure that takes James across Europe and puts him within range of a warmongering villain. Has James got what it takes to triumph over this man, the worst kind of enemy, who boasts a new kind of weapon?

Red Nemesis

James is back in Steve Cole's fourth and final blistering Young Bond adventure . . .

James is on home soil when he receives a package with a message from beyond the grave. The package’s mysterious contents put James at the heart of a long-running plot that, if it runs its course, will paint London’s streets red with blood. Not only will James have to fight to stay alive and save the country he loves, but to clear the Bond family name, which he holds so dear. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and James doesn’t know who he can trust…
