The Dandy Presents: Desperate Dan by Jamie Smart
Desperate Dan appeared in the very first Dandy in 1937 and remained a fixture of the comic throughout its life, becoming its cover star and signature character in 1984.
A resident of Cactusville, a strange mash-up of wild western town and a modern British city where herded buffalo could be seen side by side with red pillar boxes, Desperate Dan was the strongest, and often silliest, man in the west!
In 2010, Jamie Smart was offered the chance to bring Dan and his appetite for cow pies into the 21st century, and this summer special collects some of his funniest, wackiest and silliest comics in a single volume for the first time. It's a true celebration of one of the most famous British comics.
Dandy Presents: Desperate Dan by Jamie Smart Vol. 2
Cow Pies, Crazy Comedy and the World's Strongest Cowboy!
Saddle up for a second helping of hilarious mayhem with Desperate Dan Vol. 2, packed with the funniest, wackiest and silliest comics from the pages of The Dandy.
Meet (or reunite with) Desperate Dan, the strongest cowboy in the world and the daftest cowpoke in the Wild West. Dan lives in Cactusville - a riotous mash‑up of the American frontier and a classic British town, where red pillar boxes, buffalo herds and cow pies happily coexist.
Created by Jamie Smart , the million‑selling mind behind Bunny vs Monkey and Looshkin, this volume cranks the comedy up to maximum and puts the wild back into the Wild West.
What's Inside:
- 68 pages of cow‑punching, pie‑flinging comic chaos
- Non‑stop slapstick humour and outrageous visuals
- Bold, modern artwork from Jamie Smart
- Volume 2 in the laugh‑out‑loud Desperate Dan collection
If you love high‑energy humour, larger‑than‑life characters and ridiculous Wild West fun, then Desperate Dan Vol. 2 delivers in spades (and cow pies!).
