About the Author:
Clive Staples Lewis (1898-1963) was one of the most intellectual giants of the twentieth century and arguably one of the most influential writers of his day. He was a fellow and tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954 when he was unanimously elected to the chair of Medieval and Renaissance English at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. He wrote more than thirty books, allowing him to reach a vast audience, and his works continue to attract thousands of new readers every year. His most distinguished and popular accomplishments include the universally acknowledged The Chronicles of Narnia series. To date, the Narnia books have sold over 100 million copies and have been transformed into three major motion pictures. Lewis formed an unlikely friendship with his colleague J. R. R. Tolkien, author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books. Their friendship was built on the foundations of their shared interest in languages, poetry, myth and storytelling, establishing themselves in the literary domain of fiction and non-fiction works.

A box set of beautiful paperback editions of the classic fantasy series The Chronicles of Narnia. This edition is complete with cover and interior art by the original illustrator, Pauline Baynes.
The Magician's Nephew
The Magician’s Nephew serves as a prequel and presents Narnia’s origin story: how Aslan created the land and how evil first entered it. 12-year-old Digory Kirke and his friend Polly Plummer stumble into a different world by experimenting with magic rings given to them by Digory’s uncle. On a daring quest to save a life, the two friends are hurled into another world, where an evil sorceress seeks to enslave them. But then Aslan, the lion weaves his song into the fabric of a new land, a land that will be known as Narnia. And in Narnia, all things are possible.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Four adventurous siblings―Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie― have been evacuated from London to live with Professor Digory Kirke at a large house in the English countryside following the outbreak of World War II. While exploring the house, the youngest Pevensie daughter steps through a wardrobe door and enters the land of Narnia, a nation frozen in eternal winter and enslaved by the power of the White Witch. But when almost all hope is lost, the return of the Great Lion, Aslan, signals a great change . . . and a much greater sacrifice.
The Horse and His Boy
Taking place during the reign of the Pevensies in Narnia, two runaways meet and join forces on a desperate journey to escape. The protagonists, a young boy named Shasta and a talking horse named Bree, both have escaped from Calormen and begin to plan their return to Narnia and freedom. Along the way, they meet Aravis and her talking horse Hwin, who are also fleeing to Narnia. Though they are only looking to escape their harsh lives, they soon find themselves at the centre of a terrible battle. It is a battle that will decide their fate and the fate of Narnia itself.
Prince Caspian
The Pevensie siblings are back to help a prince denied his rightful throne as he gathers an army in a desperate attempt to rid his land of a false king. But in the end, it is a battle of honour between two men alone that will decide the fate of an entire world. A battle is about to begin in Prince Caspian, the fourth book in C. S. Lewis’s classic fantasy series, which has been enchanting readers of all ages for over sixty years.
The Voyage of The Dawn Treader
A king and some unexpected companions embark on a voyage that will take them beyond all known lands. As they sail farther and farther from charted waters, they discover that their quest is more than they imagined and that the world's end is only the beginning. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the fifth book in C. S. Lewis’s classic fantasy series. Now a 2010 fantasy film based on the popular book series by C.S. Lewis starring Georgie Henley and Skandar Keynes.
The Silver Chair
Through dangers untold and caverns deep and dark, a noble band of friends is sent to rescue a prince held captive. But their mission to Underland brings them face-to-face with an evil more beautiful and more deadly than they ever expected. Enter a land where enchantment rules in The Silver Chair, the sixth book in C. S. Lewis’s classic fantasy series.
The Last Battle
During the last days of Narnia, the land faces its fiercest challenge―not an invader from without but an enemy from within. Lies and treachery have taken root, and only the king and a small band of loyal followers can prevent the destruction of all they hold dear in this, the magnificent ending to The Chronicles of Narnia. The Last Battle is the seventh and final book in C. S. Lewis’s classic fantasy series.
